Mapsource Route Issues

I just created a route for a road trip my wife and I are taking this week up north. I uploaded all the maps and routes, and everything seemed to transfer fine. When I go into the route list and select the route it shows the mileage fine but when I select and activate the route it only shows the directions from my home to the first waypoint I selected. What am I doing wrong?

This is also something I would like to know more about.

I use "Legend C" together with "City Select v6", and sure: I can let my GPS-unit do a complex 2-waypoint road/route-calculation on-fly, instead of my PC-installed City Select app. But what is the point of automatic route-calculations from your PC, if one is forced to either recalculate the route a second time from the GPS-unit, or manually and painstakingly edit the route anyway, turn by turn, in order to get something more then a simple straight line from A to B?

I realize that manual multi-waypoint design is necessary in roadless terrain. But how to copy/transfer complex street-locked 2-point start/end routes from my PC, to my Garmin unit?
