Hi Could someone please help me.
I have been struggling with trying to get the Voice Alerts to work on my nuvi 765. I can confirm that I have uploaded the Garmin POILoader [UK - Speed Zoned Complete] (9.041 - 06 Apr 11) and again deleted all previously uploaded PocketGPS files but I still get the same result. Only the Red Light Camera voice alert works, the Speed Cam Alerts continue as the original Garmin tone alert. I'm using Liz Whitaker UK (MPH) Voice Set which I have uploaded in the same file as all of my POIs.
Obviously I am doing something wrong but cannot for the life of me work out what.
I would be most grateful for any assistance.

Sorry, I'm not a Garmin user so can't help much...
All I can suggest is:
If the nuvi 765 has an mp3 player - you use the mp3 voice alerts.
If it doesn't - you use the .wav versions instead, and you also need to have "sox.exe" in the same folder as POILoader.
All the audio files have to go in the same folder as the other files for uploading, which you then point POILoader at.
Sorry if that's all obvious. |

OK, I think the 765 DOES have an mp3 player, so you need the mp3 audio files...
Can you post the names of some (or all) of the different file types you have put in the upload folder? (.csv, .bmp and .mp3)
Either take a screen grab of the Windows Explorer window and put a link to it here, or just type the names, but rather than laboriously typing them out, you could try a tiny program called "Drive Z" (FREE from here:http://www.snapfiles.com/get/drivez.html).
Set it up like this:
.. but at step 3, point it to your upload folder on the PC instead.
You should then be able to paste the list created as text into your post. |
