My Garmin had a mode where you could simulate driving a route, so that when in the UK I could set and preview a route in the US.
I can't see how to do this with CoPilot (Android). I only have US maps as I can use google in the UK. If I put in destinations it won't go to them because through the GPS (or the phone if off) it knows I'm in the UK and the route is impossible, eg driving over the Atlantic!
There surely must be a way to select a point on the US map as my starting point and navigate to somewhere despite the fact that I am not in the US? Surely? |

Hit Menu at bottom left, hit the right arrow once and then hit "Plan or Edit Trip". Then add your proposed start point and your proposed finish using the "add stop" button wice. Then hit "Show Route" and choose the route type you want. It will then calculate the route take you to a map of it.
Not intuitive I admit and it took me a while _________________ Peter

On a related note, I have both European and US maps, but when I switch from one to the other, it asks me for the activation key for the respective map.
Is there a way for CoPilot to remeber both keys so I can just swap the map without entering the key each time..?
cheers

Obviously not ! Good job I took mine with me to the US last week, as I would have had the same problem. |
