You can add custom POI to the Android version of the TomTom app but there is no mapsettings.cfg to be found and no way to set up warnings from within the app.
If you want TomTom on Droid and PGPSW camera database use the CamerAlert app in the background for the warnings with TT running in the foreground - Mike |

That is because when I created the files and worked out what was needed to get it working I didn't include p_Mobiles as I don't use them, I thought I mentioned that in the first post to this thread, if not it has cetainly been mentioned before - Mike |

Since I moved to iphone from windows mobile a couple of years ago I've always used the mapsettings.cfg that came with the camera warnings.
I stopped updating my cameras when the map folder got locked out and was happily using the camera app in the background.
Now the latest version allows the POI folder I though I would set it back up. I tried using my backed up mapsettings.cfg from before the IOS6 lock out which has the camera warnings and all my favourites.
Well Bu**er me if I just can not get it to work? Complete silence on a route test passing a camera.
Fearing the worst I downloaded the clean mapsettings.cfg and low and behold the camera warnings are back working but of course minus my favourites.
Talk about annoying. Rather than rock the boat as it's working I'ved used POIedit to make an OV2 file of my old favourites as a workaround but have no idea what has happened?
I've actually changed from a iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4 in that time, and noticed there were specific files for the iphone 4, but I thought that was just for the bigger icons? The mapsettings was still the same.
Anyway no biggie just glad I can use the cameras in the app again. _________________ Samsung S22 Android, Google Maps & Camera Alert |
