What map version have you got installed on the 740? as it might be OK to use that depending on how recent your map is - Mike |

Is there an easy way to extend the distance/warning given for the mobile speed cameras? By the time it warns me its too close to them IMO.
Using the Western Europe map if that helps. |

The only way to increase the warning would be to create a new mapsettings.cfg file using a PND, the current file supplied as a demonstration is based upon the times ten rule which equates to a warning approx 30 seconds prior to the camera location assuming you are driving at the speed limit - Mike |

I used to have custom poi's on v1.2 and all worked ok. I know around about v1.6 tomtom stopped supporting the use of custom png's for poi's. So I never really bothered.
I then found this site. I just d/l v1.8 for Australia onto my Iphone 4 ios4.3.3. Have used my custom poi and pgs, but I can only see the red square. I even d/l from here the "pgpsw-iphone-tt-1.7-iphone4.zip" file and used the icons from it, renamed to my poi's. But I still get the red square.
What am I doing wrong? |

vinni, you need to use a graphics edit package on your PC to change the icons to the png format version 1,8 needs the icons in the true png format (not just the name change to the file type) - Mike |

I understand that Mike. But I don't understand that I used the png file from the zip file I d/l from this site, and then just renamed the file not the extension why they still wouldn't work.
I also used ACDSee to "save as" the image with the name of my custom poi. Still the same red square. |

The set of icons in the zip download from page one of this thread certainly work on the iPhone as they are indeed png files with a colour depth of 24 bit.
When you renamed the files to match your ov2 files did you make sure the file name was an exact match? If you want me to take a look at the files you can e-mail them over, use the e-mail address you can see when you click the button below this post - Mike |

I have created a custom POI icon for my own ov2 file - work.
I created the file as a bmp and used a graphics program to convert it to a 24bit png. Icon size is 22 x 22. All I se on the iphone is a red square? Any help appreciated please. _________________ -------------------------

Is the red square appearing in the menu screens, on the map or both??
You can e-mail the icon over and I will try it on my iPhone later if you want to - Mike |

Thanks Mike. After days of messing with the png settings I realised the ov2 file started with a capital letter and the png started with a lower case letter. Matched them up and problem resolved _________________ -------------------------
