Looks like Fortuna have pulled the update from their website until they get it sorted.

I have managed to flash my BT ClipOn, but it would not work through the ClipOnSyncBT application.

After mine failed through the ClipOnSyncBT application, I then edited the "RunExe.bat" file to remove the "-r" from the command line as this was making it fail (as you can see from the "ConsFile") and then re-set up the BT connection and ran the batch file and waited for a couple of minutes (watching the BT activity on the ClipOn) and in the file "RESCOMn" I got a PASS message and in the "ConsFile" had lots of messages about the reflashinging.

When mine now starts up I get the following:

Code:
$PSRFTXT,Version: 2.4.13.01-XTrac2.0.2-C3EVAL1.0*05
$PSRFTXT,TOW:  0*25
$PSRFTXT,WK:   1265*65
$PSRFTXT,POS:  6378137 0 0*2A
$PSRFTXT,CLK:  96250*25
$PSRFTXT,CHNL: 12*73
$PSRFTXT,Baud rate: 38400  System clock: 24.553MHz*45

So it looks like it worked (this was obtained using crux view 1.1.0 and resetting the device and capturing the messages)

I'm a bit concerned that it seems to indicate an Eval version. Is this the same version as everyone else downloaded?

When I remove the "-r" from the batch file runexe.bat (which seems to be dynamically created each time you run the bt flash app) I get the following error:

"When programming requested -f and -t should not be specified" so I take these command line parameters out and it executes ok with "target not responding" again. So for me, I am back to square one.

Ok, I removed the "-sr" from the command line thinking that maybe mpattman mistakenly miswrote the "-r". But I get "target not responding".

mpatman - please post your SiRFflashc1 command line that worked for you in your runexe.bat. Thanks.

This was what I used:

Code:
SirFFlashcl A:\FortunaXTracV202.s -l 4 -b 38400 -c 0 -sr > ConsFile

My bluetooth port was COM 4 and I set it up first.

I was a little puzzled about the EVAL entry also but it was downloaded from the fortuna site on sunday.

As for perfomance, I could not use XTRAC for tomtom due to the delay but Last night and today I did not notice any significant delay and it worked as well as or better than ST mode for me.

I have just re flashed my device and this is what I did:

1) Extracted the zip file.
2) Copied the file "FortunaXTracV202.s" to the A: drive.
3) Go to the support directory where you unzipped the zip file.
4) Run "ClipOnSyncBT.exe", configure com port and point the application to the flash file on the A drive.
5) Click on the "Com Port Off -> On" button, then the "Link To Fortuna GPS" and then finally the Execute button.
6) This looks like it prepares the device you will notice no activity on the Bluetooth, close the "ClipOnSyncBT.exe" application.

7) Edit the batch file "RunExe.bat" to remove the "-r", mine looks like this:
Code:
SirFFlashcl A:\FortunaXTracV202.s -l 4 -b 38400 -c 0 -sr > ConsFile

10) Run the "RunExe.bat" and watch for bluetooth activity.
11) When complete check the "ConsFile" and the "RESCOM4" (number might change depending on your com port.

Here is my "ConsFile" file

Code:
One SST SST39VF800 chip will be programmed
0% transferred, 0% programmed
1% transferred, 0% programmed
1% transferred, 1% programmed
2% transferred, 1% programmed

....... (edited to reduce the size)

98% transferred, 97% programmed
98% transferred, 98% programmed
99% transferred, 98% programmed
99% transferred, 99% programmed
100% transferred, 99% programmed
100% transferred, 100% programmed

Flash successfully programmed in 125.8 sec
Erase time: 3.5 sec, Program time: 28.6 sec

and my "RESCOM4" file

Code:
PASS

I've followed the steps as described above without any problems! Same logging as above. Should work for everybody.

I have tried the above instructions to the letter, but I still get the same FAIL and Target not responding errors in the logfiles.

In step 6:
6) This looks like it prepares the device you will notice no activity on the Bluetooth, close the "ClipOnSyncBT.exe" application.
Whe you pressed 'execute' you can see two windows of the cliponsyncbt application will open: the main window and the window that says it's flashing the unit. I've only closed the main window (so not the 'flashing' window). After that, I executed the command SirFFlashcl A:\FortunaXTracV202.s -l 4 -b 38400 -c 0 -sr > ConsFile from the command prompt.
Good luck!!
