Hi, can anyone help please.
I've just installed the latest gpsw camera database (consolidated by type) on my HTC HD Mini (running Windows 6.5/CoPilot 8).
Following the install instructions, after deleting the ALK ezp. camera file. and copying and pasting the new files to my device, the cameras from the update are all appearing on the screen as one, (the yellow gatso icon), even though the png. images downloaded to my desktop appear to be correct (gatso, redlight, mobile etc.)
I would greatly appreciate any help to solve this riddle.
Cheers.........Brian |

CoPilot doesn't cater for different icons by camera type

Hi
With great respect MaFt I have actually seen these icons running on CoPilot, unfortunately I cannot contact the person on whose device it was.
Are you saying that CoPilot does not support png. files......period, or could it be that I need a different version or do they need to be saved to a different target file. As I said, great respect but I have seen it.
Cheers.........Brian. |

I also saw it. but then they did another update that (sadly true to form for ALK) broke the function again...
The PNG's only worked on WinMo and Android devices anyway.
The guide here http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-copilot8.php may be a bit out of date. Every new update from ALK changed how you could add POIs (trying to stop us?!) and it was too much hassle to change it every time after spending hours working out what they had done again...

Hi,
Now I understand, it was some time ago and, so as you say, maybe ALK are trying to prevent us using your camera databases, god damn 'em!! Good on ya gpsw, keep up the good work!! |

I still have different icons for the different camera categories.
I edited each of the png's in \Storage Card\Program Files\CoPilot\skin.
Now when I update, even though the 'new' png's are ignored, CoPilot uses the edited ones. |

Hi, thankyou for your reply. Can you please be a bit more specific as I don't have the options you quote above. access to the CoPilot/skin/user is only available through the device program menu, not the storage card. (ie. "program" & "skin" options are not available on the storage card).
I've tried modifying the vga.png camera files to just .png that appear in the device program/skin menu, but that has no effect.
I've also tried modifying the camera files that are automatically placed (by CoPilot) in storage card/co pilot/EU/UK & Ireland/SAVE/user_places but again with no luck.
I'm running CoPilot ver.8.0.0.346
Once again thanks for your time, has anyone got anymore ideas, if not I think I'll have to give it up as a lost cause.
Cheers..........Brian |

I installed CoPilot on the Storage Card so that's where my skin folder is. It sounds like yours is in the main memory.
If you PM me your email address I'll send you my png files to try. |
