|

I'm going to North America in April and would like to take my sat nav with me, can anyone recommend the best way to put the NA map on it? i.e. SD card etc?
Would like to be able to put the NA map on it without having to completely remove the UK / Europe one.
Hope someone can help.
Thanks. |

On a Go720 it's easy.
Put a 4GB SDHC card in the slot.
Run Home and when it starts up point it to the SD card.
Buy the map and it should be installed to the card.
Some people prefer to copy the system files to the card as well so everything boots from the card while it is in the slot, but that is not necessary on a Go720 as it can use both the card and the internal memory at the same time.

Get yourself a 4 gig sdhc card, the faster class the better (class 6+ suggested).
Purchase and install the NA map on the sdhc card and insert the card in the unit.
I presume the European map is on internal. Well, on your unit, Manage Maps/Switch map/ and you'll see both the European and NA map listed. Just select the NA map. You do NOT have to remove the European from internal.
One caveat.
When you initially insert the card in the unit and connect to Home, it'll ask what storage you want to use. Select the memory card but Home may still try to install the map on internal. It has a bug that that causes it to do so, sometimes. So watch for that. _________________ David |

Go 720
SD card slot
Internal memory 1956MB
I would only need the USA map and not the North America one. |

No problem, thank you for the quick response.
I have found a Verbatim 4gb Class 6 Secure Digital High Capacity, would this be ok? |
