|
|
I'm having a big go-round with TT about zones (I'm 2 GB 'limited'), so I want to make sure I know what I'm talking about.
When v850 came out, I found there were two 'full Europe' maps available to my Map Update Service:
- Europe 2GB (Western & Central Europe, Russia and Turkey)
- Western & Central Europe 2GB -- this one's nearly 100 MB bigger, even though it's missing Turkey and seems to have less Eastern Europe detail.
So I took Europe 2GB.
My main complaint to TT is that two of my 4 zones (South and East) don't include UK & ROI.
Did anyone get 'Western & Central Europe 2GB' 'zoned'? I want to find out if possibly all the zones on that one contain the UK and maybe France, or if maybe there's a 'connector network of major roads' through the UK and France in zones where there's no UK or France detail.
Thanks for looking at a silly question, but it's just too hard to try to switch to find this out -- I'd probably lose my quarterly update somehow.

So far as I am aware, none of the zoned maps include the "major roads" of other zones.
So it's annoying but entirely logical that the Southern and Eastern zoned maps won't include the UK or Ireland. |

I was hoping they had done something like the thinnest part of the Eastern Zone map. In fact, it would be helpful, and I think possible, for TT to provide 'connector networks' to each of the zoned maps. |

That's a very good idea, and I'm surprised I've not seen it mentioned before. |

I just added it to my complaint ticket as an arrangement I could live with. Hopefully they can lower themselves to promise something like this before I try to get Netherlands small claims to make them give me back my £29.85. |

I have the Western and Central Europe 2Gb map and have it zoned as the latest version is too big for my Go 730.
I currently have the Western zone on the device as I am driving through France and into Spain in a fortnight and it does indeed include the UK. |

Two things:
- Yes, UK is in Western zone on Europe 2GB, just like in your Western and Central Europe 2GB. I'm wondering about Southern and Eastern zones. These don't include UK in Europe 2GB, and I suspect it's the same in Western and Central Europe 2GB.
- If I'm right, if you have a 4GB memory card plugged in you can get the full un-zoned map of Western and Central Europe 2GB on the 730. Wait till after your trip, though. I don't know how fiddly it is.
Edit: -- saw your other post, and you already know about the second part.
Bon voyage!
Thanks for the information,
