What a fool I am, I had probably the only working TomTom 3 on IPAQ 2210 in the country, all was fine with the world. Then like an eager child on Christmas day I installed Traffic, and the world has ground to a screeching halt!!!
First off installed traffic, couldn't get both Sysonchip CF GPS and Bluetooth (via Nokia 6310i) working at the same time, it was a case of one or the other......
After some fiddling get them both working (don't actually know what happened!!), then TomTom decides to blow away my favorites and ask me to go through the TomTom Traffic wizard again (well actually it didn't ask me to, but unless I did I had lost the Traffic function....)
The above has now happened three times, each time leaving TomTom navigator back at version 3.01 (409), run through the wizard and if you are lucky you may get the traffic program back.... most times so far though you don't. Also running through the wizard the application locks forcing a soft reset..... Nice......
When you do get it running, and reach you destination turn off IPAQ jump out, go to work, then find that you still have GPS running, the only way to get out of it is to seoft reset which brings on the above scenario again.... Jes' thought this was 'sposed to make it easier......
I will be logging these faults with TomTom...
Some details
IPAQ 2210 rom version 1.10
GPS Version 3.02 414/406
TomTom Version (409)
OK, so I may have fixed it.... Will need to test further, but having read a few of the other forums here I decided to bite the bullet and remove the fudge TomTomg GPS ~ driver, and reset, after that TomTom started fine, with traffic and everything..... first time since it lost the settings !!
Still lost my favorites though, I will stick this into a POI file in future....
No it didn't fix it, and now I am in a position where I have to rebuild from scratch.....
2 complaints....
1. Tom Tom UAT / test is crap or alternatively WE are the UAT and test
2. Sprite Backup is Cr@p !!! Only ever needed to use it in anger twice and both times it has let me down..... (despite extensive testing after the first time!!!)
