I think I remember seing a method of keeping Favourites, POIs and particularly the warnings for Speed Cameras etc when updating TomTom Maps, but currently I cannot find it. Last time I updated my Maps, it took ages to reset all of the warnings, so I am anxious to avoid having to do that again,
Any help will be much appreciated.

Have a look Here.

If that doesn't work do a Search for MapSettings.

That's got some other personal settings in it such as Live Services settings, Google search input text etc. , but your Locations such as Favourites, Home, recent destinations plus the warnings for Speed Cameras, are all in mapsettings.cfg

My Mapsettings.cfg always gets overwritten with the default. All I do is after updating maps I open "Operate My Go" within TomTomHome, add or edit a favourite and save it.

Worked every time for me so far.
