actually you quite right, there are pluses of wayfinder:

+speed camera information (although only visual)
+traffic taken into account when route is calculated
+free updates

and it is only for 99 pounds for lifetime, so if you get gps receiver from ebay for 50 quid then makes it quite cheap.

probably i will need to give it a go, the last version i used i didn't like, but with ability to download maps onto the device it can make it quite fast.

Yes, the search facility supports Full UK postcodes.

if you don't know the postcode, you can even do searches that include the house number (not just the street name ) for more accurate searches.

looks like it depends on the zoom. all works. nice one.

is it correct that you can download maps from mywayfinder.com to the routes you create to avoid gprs charges?

thanks.

You can cache maps to your MMC, to reduce ongoing data costs.

Have a look at the table at the bottom right of this page >> http://www.wayfinder.com/products/features_en.php?id=15

Hi folks, Just wanting to check about Wayfinder software on a Sony Ericsson smartphone and its compatibility with Bluetooth GPS receivers. I've just ordered a Solar unit from an ebay seller, who assures me that it will be compatible, but the Wayfinder retailer (TotalGPS) says it won't be (but then they want to sell me the more expensive Wayfinder kit including another receiver, don't they?). Anyone out there able to advise before I blow my dough completely?javascript:emoticon('8O')

Thanks in advance to all helpful respondents...

I've used Wayfinder with a wide range of BT GPS receivers (including some fairly flakey prototypes), and never had any problems at all. So long as your receiver supports standard GPS protocols then I'm sure you'll be fine. :D
