I hope I never lose my Active 10, or that it is stolen.

I now have 12 maps on one card...some made 'specially, and a few 'standard' off the shelf purchases. Apart from splitting them into seperate cards again....has anybody a foolproof way of somehow saving them in the event that if my A10 is lost /stolen, I can persuade Satmap to 'redo' them again for me...at a cost of course ? They are backed up on my PC...but then what ??

Satmap say that if the card gets damaged they can send you a replacement card for a small fee to enable you to restore your backup maps (see FAQ on their website for detail (Question 43). Not sure how they would play it if you said you had LOST your card... hopefully they'd be trusting!

If your Active10 itself got stolen, I take it you'd have to buy a new unit, with a different card identity - another slight unknown!

If you really want to be sure, it might be worth asking Satmap.
