Hi,
My 730T have a dead battery & it does not take a charge anymore so is it easy to buy a new battery & fit it myself or is this an expensive trip to TT for the repair ?
Thanks in advance |

It is a possible DIY job, for some details/ pictures have a read through my post in This Thread, I would also take time out to read all the posts in that thread as some of them contain additional tips and tricks to make the job easier - Mike |

Be VERY careful when levering up the battery in order to get your chosen solvent underneath. There are lots of sensitive components nearby.
And don't rush once the solvent is applied, it's vet easy to pull tracks off the circuit board. |

Any recommendations for a good source of 730 batteries, one's that don't explode would be good |

I wonder when TT & other Satnav makers will make replacement battery change simple.
Surely they could develop a new revenue stream here.
My 720T has just gone back again for repair, 3rd time in 6 mths, thank goodness for free extended warranty with my Cr. card.
Runs out middle next year, and I'm certain it's battery failure.
It works fine on desk mount plugged into PC, but as soon as I remove & apply mains charger or car lead it comes on and immediately shuts.
Tried usual hard resets etc but nothing works. _________________ Gel
