Backing up SD maps

Hi all

Sorry for so many questions today !

The satmap website site makes reference to backing up maps on a PC incase the card get damaged.

Any recommendations on the best way of doing this ?

Mike,

It is easy to do.

Just insert the SD card into an appropriate card reader ( bearing in mind that the map files are GB in size ) and copy to your chosen medium whether it be your HDD,DVD,second HD or whatever.It takes a while depending on the speed.Don't forget to copy ALL the files.

You can only copy the files back onto the original card not another for obvious reasons.

I did read a post somewhere on here,I think,where someone had cause to use the backup and it didn't work.

Of course I can't find it now.

Remember you can restore ONLY to the original SD card, not to any old SD card you might have...
