I have recently noticed that my Go540 no longer has a GPS quick fix icon under live services - I'm sure you could previously update it directly from the device? I can update it via Home and it shows up under "my services". Has the icon been removed in a Navicore update or should I have it? |

Same on my XL LIVE, GPS Quickfix still appears in "My Services", but there's no specific icon for it in the menu any more.
TomTom say: Quote: | Please note, that the latest functionality is such that QuickGPS is still part of your Live Services bundle, but the 'Download QuickGPS Fix' button has been removed.
This QuickGPS fix file is still transmitted to your device Over The Air, and so you still receive an updates which are relevant, once a new updated version of the file becomes available.
So, although you don't have the button anymore on the TomTom Services menu, you still receive the QuickGPS fix updates Over The Air. |
So I think it's all OK! |

I am sure that everytime I connected my 930 to HOME I always had a new GPS QuickFix file to download. Now I haven't seen one for ages.
Has something changed?

Cheers Kev,
I deleted 12 old files in the EPHIMIS folder and then connected to HOME but I still have'nt had a new GPS quickfix offered yet. I will try again later. _________________ Regards,

Clear everything out of the ephem folder on the unit AND all sub folders on the ephemeris folder on your computer and try again. _________________ David |

"Quick" is the satellite acquisition time for the unit.
When I've had this problem usually they reappear for download a couple of days later. Even when i stopped using QuickFix it made little difference.
If the unit has been used in the last 48 hours and hasn't moved 100s of miles it should only take a few seconds to get satellite acquisition normally anyway. |

AH!! It worked at last. I found a ziped file while looking at "components in my computer" through HOME. So I deleted that and then clicked on update and up popped a new quick fix.
Thank you for all your help members. _________________ Regards,

Thinking about it now, I am not sure, it was either ephemeris.zip or QuickGPSfix.zip. I think the later.
Now I seem to be given a new QuickGPSfix every time I connect to HOME. I notice that as well as downloading a new file to the device, It also downloads to:
MY Documents\TomTom\Home\Downloads\Complete\Ephemeris
Strange thing is that there is no new zip file recreated ... yet.
I must remember to go back into the Ephemeris file and delete the old versions of QuickGPSfix as they don't seem to auto update and replace. So they will eventually build-up.
