Voice Alerts for Nuvi 1300

I have a Garmin Nuvi 1300, on which I have selected the alerts, to use custom POI's. I have unselected the Garmin POI's ( i.e Cyclops ). I have also selected continuous tone rather than single beep. I understand that this unit supports MP3 audio.
I have downloaded the speed zone camera files and extracted them to a folder called speedcams. This gives me 30 CSV files. I have also downloaded Liz's voice alerts, and extracted them to the same folder. This also has produced 30 MP3 files. However rather than appearing directly in the Speedcam folder, they are held within a separate sub folder named garmin_liz_w_speedzoned. There is also another sub folder named _MACOSX, also containing liz MP3 files.
I have uploaded the speedcam folder to my Nuvi 1300, using the current POI loader, on Express.

Going out for a test run, the alerts work ok, but I only get the bong. I am not hearing the speech.

What have I done wrong please, clever persons ?????
