That's the point, on a Mac these are hidden, on any other device they are not.
Dot_Underscore files are explained here. There is a workaround that requires the use of Terminal to delete them or there is a plug-in called BlueHarvest that you can buy to delete them. _________________ Darren Griffin |

The location of one of the folders containing the Dot_files is:
INTERNAL
sounds
Safety Camera Warnings
KPH - Kate with Chime
Gatso
Can somebody translate this into the string I need to type into Terminal since when I tried "dot_clean /INTERNAL/sounds/Safety Camera Warnings/KPH - Kate with Chime/Gatso" it said no such location.
Since this is only one of many folders under the "sounds" parent that is affected could I issue the instruction at this higher level and all files in all the sub folders would have the dot-files re-parented? |

That wouldn't work as you haven't specified the removable drive and you need to enclose paths with spaces in quotes.

If you are not comfortable with running commands via Terminal then the simplest option would be to install the BlueHarvest plug-in which has a 30-day trial.
Otherwise, drag the mounted TomTom drive from your desktop onto an open Finder window. This will give you the correct path.
Then edit that to add the dot_clean command.
It should read something like:
Code: | dot-clean /Volumes/INTERNAL |
The dot_clean command is recursive so if launched at the top level of the volume (your TomTom) it will scan all the folders and remove the Dot Underscore files. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Brilliant - this worked for me. Many thanks. |
