I just got (3 days ago) my brand new K1, which I updated through INFORAD MANAGER. It works but there is no soun at all. I already contacted the Inforad Support Service (by mail) but no answer so far.
Anyone have an idea why I am not getting any sound when the leds turn red? Without any sound to warn me I don't want this unit.
Any help is welcomed
Thanks

Have you done the diagnostic test through the Inforad manager !!
When you say you get no sound do you mean when you turn the K1 on you hear nothing !! and also when it locates the satellites you not hear it bleep |

Yes, I have done the full diagnostic and also during the diagnostic everything works fine except sounds. So, when in the car I turn it, there is no sound of locating satellites, or when red lights show a traffic limit.
Thanks for a help. |

No sounds even when you run the diagnostic? If so then the unit is duff surely? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have emailed Inforad twice to ask what specific warning sequence is displayed for red light cameras on the K1, as there is no mention of them in the "glove box" info on their site. Both replies evade my question completely. I give up, if this is their customer service before I buy, I dont have much hope for aftersales service. Also, I would feel more confident if PGPSW provided updates directly, I can envisage being left with a next to useless device if the 12 month agreement is not renewed. It is a shame, as this unit looks ideal. |

To be fair to Inforad. They were in business before we started supplying our data and even if they did not renew our licence they would continue to operate using data from other sources so I think you're being a little pessimistic here! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Ok, I feel better about it now, thanks. I still wish they wouldnt be so shy about the red light cameras though. If it actually warns for them, I will go and buy one, as the unit is a perfect size for day to day use. |

I bought a K1 from Halfords this am. It works fine, updated it no problem. It is directional, loud enough. Put on windscreen next mirror where the glass is obscure (blue- tack to try it first), found sat signal ok.
All in all it seems good value. |

Does it warn of Speed traps e.g. laser guns as i know pocket GPS has locations for this.
Does it have any voice sounds or is it just bleeps and flashing lights, also at ngiht is it possible to turn the flashing lights off ? |

Have a look HERE for a demo.
It contains the PGPSW data base so warns the same as any other device that uses it.
No voice, only the beep(s). The leds are not too bright at night and do not distract you (or at least they don't me). |
