11 cameras in 3 mile section

yes thats right 11 fixed cameras in a 3 mile section located on Wakefield Rd (A642) Between jn A637 Barnsley Rd to A629 Pennistone Rd In Huddersfield. Speeds vary between 30 and 50 mph. Cameras are located on both sides of the road and in new islands in the centre. Plus two large blue boards staiting 125 casualties in five years. IS THIS EXCESSIVE ???
Is it legal ?? Do you not think that the "flashing" speed signs are more effective than cameras??

What might not be legal about them? All it takes is some council with fools in charge who think cameras are the answer to the everything and the universe. If you look at the PGPSW site map, you'll see at least another half dozen on the A642 to the east of the area you identify, then another 8 or so east of the M1 into Wakefield!! Popular road with the camera manufacturers you might expect.
