Hi
I have a usb connection in my car. Would I be able to plug in the home hub to charge my Go530. I have only used the usb for playing mp3. I dont want to plug in the sat nav in case it damages it. _________________ Christine from Essex Grey Surfer but young at heart.

Your device will charge quite happily connected to a PC USB port, bear in mind it will take longer to fully charge connected to the PC than when connected to a mains charger - Mike |

Been told by Hyundai that the usb port in car must only be used for music files.
It is possible to use cigarette lighter/usb adapter purchased from Halfords to connect the home hub to car.
The reason I want to do this is that I have a hinged tray with lid on my dashbord which is designed to take a satnav and the home hub fits nicely into it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL

Try buying a car charger on fleabay for an HTC phone with a mini USB charger port. Some of these chargers have a standard USB port outlet and come with a USB to mini USB lead. Just throw away that lead and put the USB plug from your TT home connector in.
Do an ebay search for HTC car charger - thousands come up but most of them have fixed leads - so you need to look carefully at photo - there are some out there
Should work - but no guarantees _________________ Peter

If you don't trust that auction site, I just received two of these for my Samsung phone, which has the mini USB connector. I got one for me and one for my daughter and they just take a standard USB cable with whatever connector is on the other end. Just plug your Home Dock in.

I got free delivery as well! _________________ Ric - TomTom 520 DEAD - Passed to the great traffic jam in the sky. Now using Maps & Waze on Samsung Galaxy S4 + CamerAlert of course! |

Thank you all for your replies.
I do have a HTC Hero phone that I purchased before christmas that had the car charger as part of the package. The charger was not in stock but should be back in stock in January. Looking at the picture and desccription this should be what I require.
Once more thank you all for your suggestions at least I now have more options.

Not if it is the HTC standard car charger - that has a fixed lead coming from the plug not a USB socket.
BTW I have bought many things from Ebay over the years with very few problems. As long as you remember that if it is too good to be true it probably isn't.
Now you have the hero you could ditch the seperate sat nav altogether. I have Sygic Mobile Maps on mine and plug it into a brodit active mount, hard wired behind the dash. No seperate sat nav to hide or take with you when you park and no ugly leads dangling. _________________ Peter

Thanks will bear in mind what you say.
I have not yet explored all the functions on the phone.
Not been out and about much over the holidlay period so have not tried gps and maps.
Glad I picked the Hero its a brilliant phone.
I still have 6 month subs on HD traffic with TT so will look for other options when it runs out. _________________ Christine from Essex Grey Surfer but young at heart.
