|
|
I have tried all the methods I can find to load the files but CP8 is not 'integrating' them. tried loading both csv with png files and TT ov2 and bmp files. tried both in the two save directories under copilot and under UK. Also tried taking out all _ and - in the file names.
Still no joy! Anybody else tried on this phone? Running windows mobile 6.5. Any help would be much appreciated, very frustrating!! |

I seem to be getting some support from ALK so I will let you know what happens. I have sent them a couple of the OV2 and BMP TT files, tonight, and they say they are going to investigate. keeping my fingers crossed.
If anybody has found a solution it would be great to hear from you. |

hi,
just updated from the trial to the real thing, and bought the Europe maps.
I can't get the cameras to integrate either - was working with the old version |

Do you have the PGPSW version with the underscores in the filenames, if so change them to dashes. |

Hi,
yes - hyphens not underscores.
Version 8.0.0.457
This did work in the eval - fails since I activated it. PGPSW files copied to
\storage card\copilot\save
I downloaded the Copilot cameras, and they did integrate, but I don't really want those |

Tried all teh - and no hyphems options, still does not work.
Interestingly the icons, BMP files, are picked by CoPilot if you try to create a new category and assign an icon, the PGPSW icons show up!
Have had an email back from ALK saying they are still investigating, so hopefully they will find a solution. Keep you posted if Iget anything back from them.
Thanks for the feedback. |

On the windows mobile version of CP8 you have to remove the 'old' png's before any new ones will be integrated.
I don't know if it's the same on the HDC but the path on the wm version is \Program Files\CoPilot\skin\User.
As you'll see, there are 3 files to delete for each icon. |

I too am having problems with Copilot on the HD2.
After reading this forum I have identified that the existing speed cams need to be deleted to allow the PGPSW speed cams to be imported. On my phone these are at
'\Storage Card\COPILOT\EU\UK Ireland\SAVE\user_places\safetycam\'
I deleted this folder and the PGPSW cams were imported and display properly in use.
Unfortunately, the above folder for the Copilot cams reinstates itself and on next restart of Copilot it reverts back to the original cams.
Getting very frustrated and may well revert back to TT rather than purchase Copilot license. Their loss if they can't sort this.

I have been advised by ALK that it is not possible to import the PGW database into copilot on the HTC HD2. No explanation, just that the updates for their own database will work!!!
Oh well thats Co-Pilot in the bucket then. I have now installed the Tom Tom pocket PC V7 onto my HD2 and it works fine with the PGW database/POIs, though it does not go in to landscape mode, but works fine otherwise.
Waste of £26. I have asked if they ever intend to sort this in future versions but don't expect a helpful reply. I'll let you know If I get anything positive, but otherwise end of thread, unless anyone has found a workaround for this. |

Stuart, Try installing 'Gyrator' on HD2 to autorotate to landscape. Works on my HD2.

Thanks for the tip. I'll give it go at the weekend.
Got a reply from ALK saying they were "definitiely wanting to resolve the issue" but could give no timescale. I won't hold my breath on that one. |

Many thanks Kastenar, tried Gyrator 2 and it works great.
Had to upgrade to .NET 3.5 which took a bit of working out as I don't use Activesync yet. For those who do manual installs the correct cab file is NETCFv35.wm.armv4i.cab.. Just copy to your storage card and run it. No need to reboot. |

I too have wasted a registration fee to discover that I cannot update the the speed camera data base (doubly expensive beecause I erroniuosly bought a euro map at the same time ALK web site guidance is really bad...) the "This does not work on te HTC HD2 note" is some what less than obvious ...£58.00 lost.
This all because TomTom do clearly state that Nav 7 for Smart Phone is not properly HD2 compatible.
Stuart any chance of a review on Nav 7 on the HTC HD2? |

There's now an official update which "seems" to solve this issue.
I've just updated and it integrated my speedcams.
I will be testing it tomorrow.
