Fixed speed cameras to be axed in Dorset.

More info : http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/news/4824330.Fixed_speed_cameras_to_be_axed_in_Dorset/

Not sure if this includes the red/green light 30moh speed cameras they have been testing here.

it's not so much axeing them as swindon did but simply not getting any new 'fixed' cams or replacing them. well, other than replacing them with specs instead - which, last time i checked, are fixed in a single position anyway Wink

to be honest though, specs are the only speed cameras that seem to have any real effect anyway - you can;t just slow down for 2 seconds then accelerate again!

You've gotta admire the accuracy of their reporting though!!

Swindon axed its fixed speed cameras earlier this year and fingers have shown the number of deaths on its roads fall to zero.

I suppose drivers are just amputating odd bits instead of killing. Twisted Evil

Perhaps they employ people who count using their fingers.........

Like all statistics they can bend the figure to suit whatever they really want - Mike
