Can anyone help upgrade a Medion GoPal 2?

Hi I have a medion GoPal 2, Its finally driving me insane its about 3 years out of date and keeps taking me to the wrong places ect. I looked online for new maps but there over £100 I can buy a new satnav for that!! Is there anyway I can update this cheaper???
Also ive tried to put POI on it and got nowhere....so an idiots guide to how i update ect will be very much appreciated
