Bought 750 live last week . confirmed by tomtom, 750 has 2gig internal memory .Tried to load new map not enough memory so phoned tomtom and they helped me to delate all foreign voices to create enough space.Home dont recognise micro sd card so I cant load map on that.Maybe I should have bought a garmin.

Welcome to the forum. I hope they helped you to do a full backup first, using Windows Explorer, not TomTom Home.

According to all the reports I've seen, and also the TomTom website, the Go 750 has 4GB internal memory.

So either TomTom are wrong (the advert or the support person) or it isn't a 750?

What make/size is the microSD card? Can the PC see the files on it when it's in the 750 - it should show up as an extra drive in "My Computer"?

I know that slower SD cards are sometimes not recognised by TomToms and it's recommended to use a branded card. Slower cards are OK in photo cameras etc where a slight delay in access is OK but the TT needs to read from it quickly and constantly.

Hmmm. Is this today's golden opportunity to get something for nothing out of TomTom? From my perspective, the specifications listed on TT website for 950/750/550 seem to be identical, namely all three models have 4GB internal memory. Looks perhaps like sloppy publishing (copy and paste) to me. How big is it when you click on Properties in Windows Explorer?

For all previous similar models, (940/740/540, 930/730/530, 920/720/520) it has been 4GB/2GB/1GB.

If I were jeff12 I'd be waving a copy of that specification under TT's nose with a view to getting a free 940 in compensation. "I bought my 750 for the 4GB memory in your specifications and it hasn't got it." Cool

I also thought the 750 had 4GB but having asked TomTom directly the device is shipping with 2GB of Flash installed so what you have got is correct, their technical specification on the web site is a mistake which I have also pointed out to them, I am sure it will be put right some time soon - Mike

So do you think the 550 is down to 1GB again too?
Were the pre-production models shipped with the bigger capacity?

For the first question I honestly don't know, and for the second one its covered under NDA so you know I can't discuss that, any information about the x50 ranges I have posted is mostly from the technical specifications on the TomTom web site which is available to everyone, if thats wrong in the first place in can lead to confusion - Mike

Are you going to ask them to live up to the published specification and provide you with a device with 4GB internal memory?
