Hi folks. Quick question if you don't mind. Is teh Satmap A10 compatible with the new iMACs? If not, I will have to consider which of the two devices not to buy Smile

Thanks

Paul

There is currently no interfacing software for the Active 10 and Apple computers. Satmap have been working on it, apparently, but we Mac users here have learnt not to hold our breath!

In the meantime, you'll be able to access the RawGPX files that the Active 10 saves to SD card using the SD slot built-into the latest iMacs, and use them in any mapping applications that recognise the GPX file format - this is what I do.
You will not be able to upgrade the firmware on your A10 from a Mac unless you install a flavour of Windows on it using either boot camp or a virtual machine like Parallels.
I currently maintain an ageing Windows XP laptop solely for the purpose of upgrading my Active 10 - not a very good situation! - so I look forward to the release of MacSync in the future.

I work on an iMac and use Parallels to run a virtual XP installation for those few remaining apps that don't function under Mac.

Happily its an ever shrinking list but i have been able to update my Active10 and run SatSYNC under Parallels without any major issues.

I take it that the following has been spotted in their website Shop?
Quote:
We are just weeks away from launching SatSYNC for MAC users. However, in the meantime, we are making our v1.4 software available to MAC users on SD card free of charge. These features include:

1. Hibernate Mode Allows you to put the unit on standby when not used for prolonged periods, meaning that when switched on again, the unit will take just seconds to get a GPS lock. The advantages include extended battery life (up to x hours), as well as much shorter lock times. Please note that the unit will not track your trail whilst on standby.
2. POI and Route Folders Imported routes and POIs can be seen in their respective menus without the need to restart the Active 10.

I have but cannot order it as they required a credit card to proceed through checkout. This then errors because the charged amount is £0.00!

Have emailed them for advice.
