Hi All

Just playing with my new TT950 and although the specs say it has TMC built-in to the active dock, the part number for the 940 and the 950 active dock is the same (4CF0.000.01).

A number of websites talk about TMC being included with TT950 including Amazon & Halfords:

Halfords & Amazon Links

"As you drive Routes IQ combines information from TMC traffic, TomTom HD Traffic to not only provide realistic journey times, but to provide the best route."

I cannot recall where I read that TMC was included in the active dock, but have I missed something?

Regards

JB

The standard dock does NOT have RDS-TMC included.

There is a dock available as an accessory that does...
See the TomTom webpage for the 950 and click on "accessories"
takes you here. Scroll down to "Mounts, Holders & Docks" and the RDS-TMC mount is the 3rd one down.

That description of IQ Routes from Halfords is total garbage. They can't even get the name of IQ Routes right... they keep referring to it as "Routes IQ technology"!
Very strange that the Amazon site has exactly the same description. Sounds like it came from TomTom themselves, but I can't believe they would get it as wrong as that.

Hi Andy

Many thanks for this.

After installing Navcore 9 on both devices, I am finding it very hard to see any difference between the 940 and the 950 which I have here on my desk now, except for the price reduction and a couple of features being taken out.

Regards

JB

That's right. The hardware of the x40 and x50 models is virtually identical (apart from the "missing" FM transmitter and mp3 player and the 550/750 having more memory than the 540/740).

Where did you get the v9 for the 940 though?
