Hi All

I am ready to buy a SatNav for my new car

I have had a good look around the forums here and I must say the my #1 requirement is the implementation of the PGPSW Speed Camera database!

I was all set to pull the trigger on a TOMTOM but I have noticed what appears to be a potential limitation with these units Sad

In my car (BMW 1 Series) I have a storage compartment at the top of the dashboard

I was going to store my sat nav in there with the lid closed and use it for speed camera warnings

To do this I would need my sat nav to turn on and off wih the car ignition so I can put it in this storage compartment and forget about it - until it shouts a speed camera warning at me!!! Wink

I have worked out how to turn the TOMTOM off with the ignition but from what I have read there is no way to have it turn on automatically Shocked Sad

This is a real shame (if true!) - does anyone know of any other units (e.g. GARMIN) that will do this?

However, I really like the operation of TOMTOM units (my wife has a 720T) and from what I have read here they are the easiest to update and work with the PGPSW database - I would definitely want the unit to call out "Gatso 30mph"

If there is another make that will turn on and off with the ignition is the PGPSW integration as good as the TOMTOM on these units?

Another solution could be a Brodit Active Mount for the TOMTOM but would II still need to turn on it on every journey to get the speed camera warnings?

Is there a devise that will do everything I want or do I need to compromise?

HELP!!!!
