Hi
My problem is that TT6 periodically loses sight of the .cfg file held in the map directory. This file holds all the prefs such as Home, favorite destinations and alerts, etc. relative to the map whose directory it occupies.

Most noticeably this happens if the SD card with the program on gets ejected or disconnected for any reason, although I can turn on TT6 sometimes only to find my preferences have vanished for no apparent reason.

Recovering the preferences is simply a matter of overwriting the existing .cfg file with a "good" copy from my backup, but it is still a nuisance.

I do not know how true it is, but as far as I am able to discover, the .cfg file is treated as a script and gets rewritten each time it is invoked. So my assumption is that anything that interrupts the write process will corrupt the file.

Does anyone know what is going on and have any ideas how to stop this happening (making it read only kills it completely)?

This is a 'problem' with all TT Devices.

The cfg file is always being updated while the Application is running, therefore the only safe way is to Exit the program in an orderly fashion.

With most Hand Held Devices it was recommended that a copy of the file be keep in the Root of the Card.

This enabled those Units that had an Explorer ability built in, could just copy that file to overwrite the one in the Map Folder. There was no need to connect to a PC.

Not even a revert to last known good configuration - even Windows can manage that much.

Ah well. Thanks very much for the fast response.
