Has anyone tried transferring their Live Services account from on device to another?

My Go940 has been troublesome since day one and TT were so useless I gave up trying to get anywhere, so I want to upgrade my 940 to an x50. However I don't know if the subscription is linked to my account and can be used on any current device or if it is linked to my current device and I have to stop the subscription and start a new one on the new device.

I would guess that the Live Services are related to both the email address and the SIM which means the device. My experience in changing from a monthly payment to pre-pay was nightmare and I can imagine transferring an account will be a nightmare. It would probably be easier to create a new account for the 950 (TT Servers do not like two devices on one email account) and start a new susbscription, although I would recommend the prepay route.

Whilst I usually rush out and buy the latest gadget, I am not yet rushing out to upgrade the 940 to the 950 as I do not see it as an upgrade. There appear to be less hardware features on the 950 and I expect any software features will appear on the 940 when the system is upgraded.

At the moment HD Traffic is very unreliable at peak times and I would not want to invest in any product depending on it until the service is fixed.

My 510 with UK & Irl map died (not repairable) 5 days after I paid for map updates!

E mailed tom tom & told them that I had bought a 640 as replacement & told them i wanted to move my map updates onto the 640.

They did it but only gave me 8 months as the price for Europe update is higher than UK & Irl map
