Since the last firmware update on my 520, the "Dim screen between instructions" no longer works. Consequently battery life is much reduced on a long journey. TomTom admitted this was a bug, and would be fixed in the next firmware release. I was wondering if others with a 520 had this problem, and if a new release is on the horizon - it seems like months since the last release. I'm running 8.351.

AFAIK the 520 is supposed to be run with the power lead attached and current flowing, so this shouldn't be an issue.

With this setup, I don't have the Dim Screen' checked and have no problems.

Before the latest FW update I could easily get 3 hours out of a full battery using the dim option - now I get barely half that. I just have an aversion to powerleads snaking across the dashboard Crying or Very sad

Are you able to reload an older version of the firmware from a backup? If so, it would be possible to test the two versions and report to TT if the issue resolves with the previous setup.

Unfortunately not as I've recently moved from a PC to a Mac and no longer have previous backups. TT did admit this was a bug (as per my original post) to be fixed in a future update. It seems strange that other 520 owners haven't reported this bug - perhaps I'm the only one who used the dim option!
