Memory-map maps onto Garmin Etrex Vista HCx

Is there really no way to get a Garmin Etrex Vista HCx to read the Memory Map qct format maps?! I have managed to save the maps to the Micro-SD card on the HCx and can see them via the PC but the HCx does not recognise them as maps. Does anyone know of a way to save them in a format the Garmin will recognise?

I have read such bad reports about the Garmin Topo maps - and viewed them on the Garmin website (not good) - it seems such a waste not to be able to use the Memory-map maps.

No - maps are specifc to the vendors. It's a pain - but there it is. It's down to the licensing enforced by OSGB and to specific capabilities the manufacturers want to implement.
