740 Live - on maps micro SD cards

The 740 live has an SD card in the base -- a micro SD I think it is called --

If Tom-tom can supply maps -- without having to go down the faf of downloading from the Internet and getting failures
-- been there -- failed
-- can they supply the maps on an SD card -- apparently NOT...

They do not support the micro SD
-- even though one is built into the 740 Live
-- mine is 2 GB

Any ideas how to get the new maps on a Micro SD..
-- so that I can just plug it in and Go..

I simply cannot do computer down loads !! -- age thing I think --

I've not seen it, but if you haven't already, it might be worth a question to TomTom themselves.
Something along the lines of "You sell a device that uses micro SD cards... Surely then, you should sell maps on the same type of card".

I'm sure you'll get some stock answer saying "Maps are available for download...2 but at least you've vented your spleen, so you might feel a bit better.

I see in another topic you've asked if someone could start up a software/maps hardware update service.
I'm offering to do it for you if you can get to me (West London), or be prepared to send the unit to me.
