|
|
My brother just bought a new 720 this past week and he can't seem to get home to recognize it.
His computer connects to it and he can see it in his drives but home keeps telling him no device connected.
He has uninstalled Home and cleared out any reference to home on his computer and reinstalled the newest version of home a few times and still can’t get it to connect to home.
I have walked him through everything that I can think of like pin reset, clear flash etc etc.
He has talked to TT support and they haven't been able to sort it out either.
I am just wondering if there is something I am missing or something else that I could suggest to him.
Perhaps he could try installing an older version of home?????
I feel bad about this as it was I that talked him into buying a TT. |

Hi GarCor......
It appears from this that TT suggests uninstalling and re-installing Home.
One other thought.......can he try using a different usb port for the dock? _________________ David |

Failing that, perhaps he can exchange it for a diiferent unit. Sounds like something in the TT system is faulty in not recognizing the connection.
Is he by chance using Vista? If so, any chance he can install Home on an XP machine or run Vista in xp compatibility mode? _________________ David |

He is running XP .
I will call him a bit later and try the support suggestion and if that doesn't work he might have to exchange it.
He did have it connect to home once, he downloaded some updates but that was it and then he couldnt connect after that .
I know he should have done a backup first and I told him that but you know how a kid is with a new toy
I am wondering if he should try an older verson of navacore.
Do you have the link to older versons of navacore for 720 .
It works fine other than Home recgonizeing it. He is planning a 2000-25000 Kl trip shortly and I am sure the map that is in the unit should do fine for that and if need be he could send it back when he returns. |

If you go to this site in the bottom right of the page you'll see links to older Home versions. He could try 2.64. for starters... _________________ David |

Thanks again for all your Help David!!
We tried a few different things with no luck so he is just going to use it for now as it is and when he gets back from his trip he will get back to TT support and more than likely send it in for an exchange. |
