Following a recent crash on my Go520, I managed to get it up and working again.
I have the Uk & ROI (latest version) maps on the internal memory and the Western Europe (Vers 606) on an SD card.
When I try to re-activate the Western Europe map I get a message saying "This Map Cannot be Used on this Device".
However, using the Operate my Go otion in TT Home, I can activate the map and use it.
If I try to switch to the Europe map directly on the 520, I am asked to activate the map.
Any suggestions please? (Using Navcore 8.351) |

Just so its not an issue, are the maps legal and were they legally activated before the crash? _________________ Tomtom GO 1005 LIVE

Yes to both. The UK & ROI came with my current unit. The Western Europe was from my previous unit.
Both were working fine before the crash. |

Going from the version of the Europe map, it will probably use the old style of activation which creates a mapname.mid file in the map directory. You could try and remove this file (make sure you have a backup copy in case this is not the issue) and see if this allows it to reactivate. _________________ Drivelux |

Strewth, map 606 has got to be at least three years old. You'd better hope Europe is still there when you go to use it! _________________ Dennis

Hang on there. If the WE map was from your old unit, then I'm not sure it is legal. Aren't maps only licenced for one device? As it has been previously activated against a different TT, it won't be valid for your new one. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Older maps had a different activation system and could be automatically activated on line or by using an activation code generated from the device code on www.ttcode.com. They could be moved between devices. _________________ Drivelux |
