TT910 formatting itself

My TT910 (7.903) starts up ok , but lately has taken to formatting itself ( flshing red cross on TT screen and the word " formatting" on upper left ) when I put it on the home dock. While it does this a flag comes up on the comp to say" a usb device has malfunctioned and is not recognised" after 3 or 4 minutes the formatting and red cross disappear and just leaves the green screen with a picture of the TT. but still no response.
Remove TT... pin reset... remount and start... everything back to normal.
I recently upped to 7.903.... any ideas anyone please ??

So it's not actually formatting, if it still works after a reset.... Wierd!

Not a Vista PC by any chance?

no... XP... had it for years with no probs. Just been out in car. TT working fine, putTT in glove box while in shop(still turned on) . when I cameout and remounted TT on holder, it went into the flashing X routine without the formatting. needed a pin reset then went fine
