Firstly you need to generate UPI files as for normal McGuider/Sygic Cams.
You need to FTP into the iPhone from your computer.
The Mobile Maps will be somewhere in /var/public/applications dont ask me to tell you where as all the folders have strange names. This I will call the root folder.
From the root folder you go to documents/map/gbr and copy the UPI files there.
From the root folder go to Sygic Europe.app/res/sounds and copy the .ogg files there.
From the root folder go to Sygic Europe.app/res/icons and copy the .bmp files there.
After that you can start the application and configure the proximity warnings.
Please note that neither I nor PocketGPSWorld.com take any responsibility for any failures of your device due to you attempting any of these instructions. It worked for me. If it goes wrong you have been warned.

Just had a quick go & it works 
If it helps others... I used iPhone Browser rather than FTP as I find it a lot easier.
Have to say Sygic have done a great job 
Ps Understand this is all at my own risk. |

I downloaded this - almost 4 hours in total to get it onto my iPhone. But well worth it - very pleased so far.
Has anybody figured out how to delete and rename Favourites? Had a bit of finger trouble and got some duff entries in already!

Can you confirm exactly which holder you have, please? I'm after something I can use with a case.

I got chance to try Sygic yesterday and am very impressed. 1 query though. Do the speed cameras only warn when you are being guided? I passed a camera on the way into Southampton - just the map showing - and no warning. On the way back, I has a route set for home and got a warning for the camera on the other side of the road. Both cameras are shown on the map.

Favourites are classed as a POI so:
main menu > manage poi > delete poi OR rename poi

| I thought TomTom worked the same way, in that it doesn't know where you're going, so doesn't know to warn - although logically if you're travelling down a road with no other junctions you'd think it could figure it out. |

When you set up the POI alerts the last screen prompted you to warn if the POI was on the route. It sounds like you have checked this box.
If you dont have a route planned it will not issue any warnings. If you do it can scan the route to determine if it needs to warn.
If you uncheck this option then you will increase the number of false alerts as you will get warnings for cameras in a certain range not just on the road you are travelling.
TomTom works in exactly the same way with the warn on route option.
Using warn on route can sometimes fail to warn if the camera is not positioned on the road for your map. This can often happen if the map optimisation has "moved" the road.

I am aware of the warn on route flag for POIs, but speed cameras don't count as POIs, so I could not have set the flag. In fact, I have just had a reply from Sygic confirming that you get no warning whatsoever for speed cameras if you are not being guided. They don't even appear on the map! This is very disappointing. If I am approaching a camera I want to know, whether I am being guided on a route or not.

Sorry Alan,
I am having an off day today. I had just been doing some bits on the PocketGPSWorld.com Speed Camera POIs on Sygic and my brain didnt click that you were talking about the built in ones.
And it is quite correct that both TomTom and Sygic ones only warn when you have a route set.

Hi Mike
I have only used PGPSW camera data which, as a POI, can be set to warn even if not on a route. I have added the question for Sygic on your other thread, if this can be changed. Clearly if there is a camera approaching you want to know regardless.
