new map doesn't work on go 930

hi, i recently updated the maps on my go 930 and since then all it wants to do is navigate to the nearest police station.
i can program a route fine but anywhere between 1 and 5 minutes after its worked out a route the screen starts pressing buttons itself and ends up stuck on walk to nearest police station. you can see it press/highlight the buttons as it does it, it goes main menu - help me - walk to help - nearest police station.
The map is 830.2305 (western and central europe) i've redownloaded it about 10 times now and each time tomtom says its installed fine but if i use a backup i took of the previous map (830.1801) it works perfect.
I've checked there is nothing pushing on the screen also done a format and restored to original then updated but still the same.

any suggestions would be great

I can't see how the map itself could do that. It is also odd how it is the top right icon everytime which would indicate that some small particle towards the top right is possibly under the edge of the screen, have you tried sliding a thin pieces of paper around the edge of the screen to clear under the edge of the frame where it meets the screen.

For the heck of it, use Explorer to see if there is anything in a scripts folder. If there is, delete it.

I ain't got my tt in front of me so can't dee if it is the same place being pressed all the time ....if it is it is very possible it is the screen that is damaged somehow

yes ive cleaned round the edge of the screen, it has me beat as to why it does this with the map but im 100% sure it the map as i went back to the previous map and its fine but as soon as i upgrade to the newest map it starts doing it.
can't see any files that shouldn't be there either and yes its the same top right bit that appears to get pressed.
i'll see if i can get a video of it doing it when i get home.
