I have a GO910 which is great (apart from the reflective screen) but it is bulky and a pain to set up. I am looking for another unit, TT because I and more to the point, my wife is used to it.
Something smaller, easier to set up and more portable. I have looked at one or two reports on line, but they seem out date. Obviously UK maps, perhaps Europe too. Not worried about North America because I still have the 910.
What do experts here suggest?

The new XL IQ Routes seem popular, and a LIVE version is due this month.

As long as you don't need BT handsfree then I would take a serious look at them.

It really depends on what features you need.

FM transmission
Bluetooth
MP3 facility
RDS or HD traffic

etc etc

The One range is the most basic, the x40 series is the new top of the range line of TT units.

Plenty of choice inbetween

Not heard of XL IQ - is that a TT brand?

I use hands free on the 910, but it's not a requirement. I can use my ordinary hand free,, and my wife would not use it at all!

What is the significance of LIVE?

Not bothered about FM or MP3. Car's got a CD player! :-)

Traffic reports good but what's RDS or HD in this context?

My main problem with the 910 is its bulk and fiddly set up. Looking for a unit to navigate in the UK that is truly portable, quick clip in and out, but has the accuracy and POI functions etc of the 910.

The choices you have now are:

ONE models - small 4x3 screen. cheapest
XL Models - (used to be called ONE XL) - widescreen versions of the above
Go Models - all singing all dancing models with Bluetooth mp3 players etc.

Until recently, only the Go 540/740/940 models had the LIVE services. This is a subscription service (7.99 a month) giving you Live Traffic, Google Search,Weather, Fuel Prices all via a built in SIM card, so no extra aerials, boxes or cables needed.
But now they have released a version of the XL with Live Services too.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll investigate the XL range.
