Has anyone else had a problem retaining routes transferred onto the Active10 from the Route Planner using Satsync? I find I can import (and Satsync changes to .map format), turn off, turn on, and the route may have vanished. Or, I can still see it, change its name (because it seems incapable of retaining the name already given through the format change process), and there it is, and all seems fine But if I switch off and on again, it's vanished again. And this seems to apply both to saves to main memory and the SD card. Thoughts greatly welcomed.

Once you identify it the first time (with the changed name) do you edit it to change the name to one that you have chosen?

Do you mean that the second time you cannot find it at all?

Can Satsync see this lost file and if so what name does it show?

I only change the name once on the Satmap from something like 'Myroute 1', which is what it arrives with regardless of what I called it on the Route Planner. Say I've changed it to 'Devils Punchbowl'. It may have disappeared altogether when I switch back on, not even visible in Satsync.

Sorry Goon525 but you have got me stumped.

I would have expected the file on the A10 to have had the same name as on route planner (with the exception of .gpx changing to .map). I would also have expected any map file on the A10 that had had its name changed with the edit function to show up under the new name both immediately and when the device was restarted.

Are you using the latest software?

Yes, LostMike, I'm running the latest software, and also the latest version of Satsync. I'm reasonably IT savvy and don't think I'm doing anything really silly.
I take it that no one else is suffering from this issue, then?

I have lost routes put on the A10 in the way you have. There one day gone the next. It's being looked at by satmap. I thought it was only me having that problem.

I have had some problems with Satsync, but assumed that as a new boy I was just being incompetent . . . . . Shocked

I'll have to make better records of what happens next time.

Really glad to hear it's not just me. Perhaps I should also report the issue to Satmap?

Yes, I have the same problem here.

Imported routes remain as long as I don't attempt to rename them.

If I rename them, the routes are still there until I switch the machine off.

Next time I switch on, the renamed imported routes are gone.

I'll need to check, but I think routes that are created on the Active 10 itself can be renamed without problems.

But the trouble is, that whatever you called the route created in the Route Planner, it just changes to something like 'My Route 13' when imported into the Active 10. So you pretty much have to change its name again to have something meaningful! And then, as you say, it just disappears...

This is probably no consolation, but just to say it does work on some Satmaps.
I've checked on mine and the routes appear on the Satmap as I named them in the Route Planner.

Yep - I checked mine carefully this evening and I get a very similar effect.

The Satsync screen shows the route name alloted to the imported file, but on the Satmap I just see "Route name". If I import several routes they each show on the Satsync screen with the alloted name, but on the Satmap they all appear with the same title "Route name".

Editing "Route name" to something meaningful results in the disappearance of the route when next I turn off the Satmap.

Is the Satsync program still in Beta?

Yep - I take it all back - have just loaded the new version and at first sight it works perfectly.

Excellent.
