I have just purchased a TT 520 and have their UK speed cameras installed version 3396

I backed my system up then let TT home install all the updates plus speed cameras.

The problem I have is I get a speed camera warning but there is no visible speed camera icons displayed. I looked in the POI's and speed cameras are not listed so I did a search of this forum but there is so much information returned I am at a loss to see the problem I have.

Can anyone help please?

And for the benefit of others, what was the solution?

Darren, it is quite a long process which I did try to post in to the message box but received the error

The html tags you attempted to use are not allowed

If you are trying to post images or links in the forums it is advisable to use BBCode

If you email me I will send the process to you and you can try and post it.

The text you tried to post will have contained the greater than and/ or less than signs, the forum code rejects these and refuses to let you post them. You can either remove the signs or e-mail me the text and I will edit/ add it to your post (use my e-mail button below) - Mike

Details sent to your email.

Edit to add the TT answer:

To check that your safety camera warning are installed correctly, please do the following:-

STEP 1 Reset your Device

- Go to Change Preferences/ Reset Factory Settings, please proceed with resetting your device to factory settings.
- Reset your TomTom, see http://www.tomtom.com/6965 in how to do this.

STEP 2 Run the Clear Flash tool twice.

- Close TomTom Home and also close it from the System Tray of your computer in the bottom right corner of your screen down by the computer clock. You should see a red icon for TomTom Home there, right click on it and choose 'Exit'. (On a Mac, simple close TomTom Home)
- Download the clear flash tool from http://www.tomtom.com/updates/clear_flash/clear_flash.exe
- On a mac you can download the clear flash tool from - http://www.tomtom.com/updates/clear_flash/clear_flash.dmg
- Safely disconnect your TomTom from the computer (On a PC use the Safely Disconnect tool).
- Remove the USB cable from the TomTom
- Let the TomTom load up to the main map screen.
- Reconnect the TomTom to the Computer
- Run the clear flash tool again.

STEP 3 Perform a Disk Error Check

- On a PC, Connect your TomTom device to your computer and switch it on.
- Click Start/ My Computer and then right-click the removable drive for your TomTom device.
- Click Properties.
- Select the Tools tab.
- Under Error checking click Check Now...
- Tick both boxes and then click Start.

- On a Mac, Connect your TomTom device to your computer and switch it on.
- Go to Applications : Utilities : Disk Utility.
- Select your TomTom device in the left pane and then click Repair Disk.

STEP 4 Enable the Safety Cameras

- On the TomTom device, go to 'TomTom PLUS Services - TomTom Safety Cameras'
- Make sure that the alerts are enabled.
- Tap 'Change Warning Preferences'
- Select 'All'
- Tap 'No' when asked to remove warnings
- Choose warning time
- Choose warning sound

Your Safety Cameras should now be installed and working. Please drive past some safety cameras to receive warnings.

Please note that Safety Camera alerts will only give an Audio Warning when you are traveling faster than 60% of the speed limit, or actually exceeding the speed limit. This feature is designed to stop you being needlessly warned when in slow moving traffic.

If you are traveling below 60% of the speed limit, then you will only see an icon on the TomTom screen and not and audio alert.
