That's not the original map? What happened to the Western Europe Map v7 it came with? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Firstly can you remove whatever card is fitted to the device and then power the unit up to see what it does, if it boots up and works can you again quote the map version and Navcore loaded that the device is using without the card installed.
Secondly, you have reported the device running a version of Navcore software that was never released for the x20 range which is rather strange. Navcore releases for the x20 range jumped from 7,481 straight to 8,010 as far as I can remember, in addition the x20 range wasn't released until well after the v660 map was superceded by newer v7xx mapping so something is clearly wrong with what you have purchased.
I am sure this can be resolved by putting the correct software on the device, but an answer to my first point above will offer a better idea as to what is going on with the device - Mike |

When I power up without the SD car I get a screen showing me how to enter the SD card and nothing else. _________________ Ron (1):

Opps silly me. I have been saying it's a 720. It's a 710. So sorry. My mistake. Does this make a difference or explain the conflict with the maps. I am 100 percent that the maps are originals. _________________ Ron (1):

I have just checked the information screen again. Everything I put re the maps is correct. I am positive its an original. Just to confirm at the top it says tomtom Go 710. I have been telling everyone since I got it that it was a 720 _________________ Ron (1):

What's the device in your signature? Anyway, as I said before, please follow my advice on Page 1 re downloading the ClearFlash utility.
Do then THEN report back and let us know if the problem persists following that. _________________ Darren Griffin |

When you say you have downloaded some "real voices" would these be the Text To Speech voices by Loquendo?
If so forget it as they won't work on the 710, only the 910 had the TTS voices due to the huge file size, the Loquendo voice files from the x20/ x30 ranges are very different to those used by the 910.
At least the device number explains the Navcore and map version you are using, that map is over two years out of date by the way - Mike |
