Charging TT Bluetooth GPS

I wondered whether anyone is having this particular problem I have encountered with my TT bluetooth GPS. Occasionally when I have the need to charge the unit on a long journey, when the device has been on all day I have never managed to charge the unit as well as navigate. The unit will do both for around 5 minutes and it will go off line and therefore not navigate. The solution is to turn the unit off and on again but this will only last for a further 5 mins. Has this happened to anyone. Otherwise I am really pleased with the overall package tt bluetooth with tt2(waiting for 3) which I have had now for a couple of months.
