I travelled from west London to Exeter on Friday using my 940. I usually prefer to use the A303 rather than the M4/M5 route but TT Traffic informed me it was closed.

I returned home today and decided to ignore TT Traffics warnings about the A303 because I could see no mention of a closure on the AA website. Lo and behold there was no closure and not even a sign of any roadworks.

As I write TT Traffic is showing the road as still closed for 4 miles to the east of Mere but a traffic holdup for a section in the middle of it!

Update: The delay seems to have just cleared but the road is still closed!

TomTom's Route Planner also shows the A303 closed for 4.0 miles between Mere and A350 interchange. Looks like another A40 fiasco to me! Rolling Eyes

So I sent a question to TomTom...
Quote:
In Route PLanner, you have the A303 shown as blocked for 4.1 miles from Mere, Warminster, UK to A350 Interchange.

I understand that this closure is also carried forward into planning for x40 Live devices as per this topic....

Why?

And they have replied...

As the saying goes, "Ask a stupid question....." Not being an x40 user I couldn't tell them that my x40 was doing the planning wrongly. I thought they might pick up on that. It's presumably a MapShare thing (again!!), but what do I know? Rolling Eyes It's not blocked on my 920, but then I don't ever download Mapshare corrections.

Just planned a route from Sutton (near London) to Exeter on a 740 and it uses the A303 all the way. Only delay is on the M25.

Route Planner shows the same. Been fixed over night?
