Somebody help me.
Recently connected my One to my laptop to get any upgrades. It has now locked up completely, only opens up as far as the TomTom intro screen. I have tried resetting it, recharging it and reconnecting to my laptop. All options are unsuccesful.
Anybody got any ideas what is wrong, would be grateful foe any help.

Possibly you pulled out the USB cable before it had finished? Often Windows *looks* like it has finished copying stuff, but in fact it is still doing it. So you always need to you the "Safely remove hardware" button in the system tray near the PC clock before you unplug.

Now... can you connect to the PC and see the One as a new disk drive in "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer"?

If so, browse to the TT storage using Windows Explorer and first make a backup by selecting and copying everything you can see and saving it to somewhere safew on the laptop.
Next, delete all the files that are NOT in folders, do not delete any folders or any files inside folders.
Then you should be able to run "Home" and it will reinstall the software.

So annoying at work when someone borrows your stick to transfer files and they just yank it out of the port.

Data corruption doesn't come any easier than that.
