Hi all,

Does anyone use the compass feature on the go series. i have a 540.

On a recent trip into London i glanced at it alot to confirm my direction as i needed to be heading westboundish, and the re routing feature was agonisingly slow so while it was sorting itself out i headed in a general direction.

The compass feature shows no resemblence to travelling direction at all.

the Direction feature that shows you the degrees seems to work but the little compass icon is always way out.

Is this a fault or do you need special glasses to decrypt its message Laughing

Ian

The compass points north at all times.

Which direction was the compass pointing when heading westbound (bearing 270)?

Correct. Whilst I understand the complaints of those who miss the additional functionality that used to be available in the compass in earlier versions I don't understand why people find the fact that the compass points North confusing?

Is it the fact that the map is direction up that causes the confusion?

Makes sense, although i would prefer the arrow to point to a static N, E, S or W.

The westboundish direction i was on did have the arrow pointing rightish.

Thanks for the input

That's what it now does... It always points north.

That's right... If you were travelling west, the arrow would point towards the right hand side of the screen.
