I currently have a TomTom Go 300 and am thinking of replacing it with a newer TomTom model.

I've looked on the TomTom website at the various models to see which might be the closest in terms of functionality to my TT Go 300.

As my TT Go 300 is quite basic the equivalent today looks to be the TT Go One. Am I right in my assumption of is this model inferior to the TT Go 300?

Also do the new ones take the same SD cards as the TT Go 300?
Thanks
Matello

New ONEs and XLs do not have SD card slots at all, just fixed internal memory that cannot be expanded.
They also have several features deliberately removed (like itinerary planning).

Your best replacement would be a refurbished 520 or a 530 (or 720/730 if you want to have Europe maps too)

Try Handtec for some good deals...

Try getting a Garmin instead. Tomtom seem to have lost it with their devices. After you buy from them, their updates will see some features not work, some people have been waiting over 3 months for them to sort out software problem to get their devices running properly.

My XL had itinerary planning ('had' as in I don't have the model now), my mum's ONE has it as well!

But don't let this sway you anyway Matello, I'd recommend an x20 or x30 too Smile

You surprise me...
Is that a ONE with the new foldaway mount and an "XL" (not a older "ONE XL")?

I cannot get Itinerary planning to work on my ONE v4 (EasyPort mount).

Using the old TT SDK you can get back Manage POI's but not Itinerary.

Thanks everyone.
I do like the look of the GO 730.

On the TomTom website the difference between the GO ONE with Regional map and the one with Maps of Europe is £19.

Yet on the 530 with regional map and the 730 with Maps of Europe there's a £50 difference yet I can't see any extra features on the 730 over the 530.

I think I'm going to go for the 730 as I need maps of europe.
I assume these are detailed maps and not just major roads on Europe?

Edit: Just read some reviews on Amazon for the 730 and I'm not so sure now. Sounds like it could be £300 on a product that could annoy the hell out of me given how pleased I have een with my TTG300.

Might just stick with the old one or take a look at Garmin.

Thanks
Matello.
