Hello folks
I too have had exactly the same problem and I'm with O2 as well.
Have an open question with Tomtom, but I guess they're not going to solve it.
Hopefully O2 will get a new copy of the file - it can't just be affecting the few of us on here.

BE and O2 are the same ISP, so that's causing the same problem. |

Hi gwjonesey
BE and o2 the same provider? I have been on Google but cant find a connection between the two names. However, if there is a connection then the corrupt file certainly appears to lay at the door of the BE.o2 providers. All very strange. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

I got this back from O2, still waiting for a response from TomTom. I am sure that the data is not being cached locally because I have tried from three separate PCs. I am now wondering if TomTom use some sort of content delivery network which has corrupt files.
To make things worse I got an email from TomTom this morning saying my new map was ready for collection (I have only been trying for 5 days!)
Hello Adrian
Thank you for your email about your broadband connection.
I can confirm that we don't use Cache servers to store data locally. All our traffic is pulled directly from the internet.
If you've tried re-downloading then I'd advise to reset your browser settings or try to find another source for the update file. If this is a compressed file then it may be a problem with the program your using to extract the files.
I hope my reply has answered your query.
Kind regards
Grant

I got this back from TomTom, I have got a feeling that it won't help because:-
a) I have tried it from three PCs so therefore I have forced a download of everything at least twice.
b) I have previously tried deleting the maps folder from the download folder.
But I will give it a go tonight and see!
Dear ,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support.
Your reference for your query is 090304-001xxx.
If, for any reason, you are not able to (re)install a software update or any of your purchased PLUS services, please follow the steps below:
1. If your TomTom unit is connected to your PC, exit from TomTom HOME and disconnect the unit
2. Go to My Documents and then browse to TomTom\HOME\Downloads
3. Delete the contents of the Downloads folder (not the folder itself)
4. Connect your TomTom unit and, in TomTom HOME, check for updates again
5. The software will download all available services, including software update if necessary, and you will be able to install them to your TomTom unit.
With best regards,
Catriona

I've tried this alraedy too and I suspect it won't work. Will try from the office system on Monday (or maybe a visit to Starbucks over the weekend to use their ISP).
Can anyone confirm that using a different ISP works yet ? |

Hi G8AMB6. / gwjonesey
No. Tom-tom’s cure will make no difference at all. I have always used the method they propose to download maps from Tomtom and I have never had a problem before. Anyway, the download happens but it has a corrupt file, and that’s it. How some of us have a corrupt file and others do not baffles me. And lets be honest, we can not be sure if the fault is with Tomtom or our ISP. If I was a gambler I think I would place my money on….Mmm!...Er!…….. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Please check your downloaded map by opening the map folder and see which version of map you have downloaded as there are two different versions of this file:
crpoi.dat file for W&CE v825 Here
crpoi.dat file for W&CE_2GB v825 Here
Perhaps this might get you up and running? - Mike |

Hi Mike
Although my device runs quite satisfactory without the file I will of course download the file and install it. I guessed that some one would point us in the right direction for a download and I thought that it may be you. Thanks. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

If anyone else from this thread needs the crpoi.dat file then return to page three of this thread and scroll to the bottom of the page - Mike |

Cheers Mike. Trying to download now but it's very very slow for some reason. Have you tried rapidshare instead? _________________ TTG 720
