I switched on my 720 a few days ago and after loading the car i was shown a screen saying "a new map may be available for your device" it advised me to log on via TT Home. I have the Map Update Service subscription.
next day i did so and the usual GPS fix and Mapshare stuff popped up followed by a spurious error message which I paid little attention to (funny how you get like that with Home :-) ) The error never returned and there are no maps available but now whenever I restart or reset the device I get the 'I agree' screen with the safety instructions etc that you get once after a map upgrade or when new.
Doesn't really cause any problems and hasn't affected the performance (still rubbish with stuttering etc) but a little odd. Maps still show as latest version as per current release (sorry don't have unit with me).
Anyone else had this? _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

That will teach you to connect it to HOME!
I am sure there is a tickbox somewhere to turn that off, but mine does every time it is booted after being connected top the PC and then it goes away.
Not had the message about the new map on mine yet, but it has been reloaded about 200 times with a different app every day since 8.300 came out

I also have the new map available message on my 720 connected to Home since yesterday, but of course there is no new maps yet.
Have just got a 930 TomTom refurb and not yet decided to use it yet, as I would like to get the forthcoming new maps within the 30-day latest map guarantee. |

Yeah but it get's more comical. I connected to Home a few minutes ago and it did the usual but in the top right corner I had a notification that a new map was available. Went into it and ended up being asked to subscribe to the Map Update Service which made me realise somehow I wasn't logged in. So I logged in and then suddenly, no update available.
So it would appear that if I haven't yet subscribed there is a new map waiting with my name on it. If I parted with my cash already then there isn't. I think that kind of sums up Tom Tom at the moment. _________________ Tom Tom GO 720

I spoke with TomTom Support about this as i had just downloaded what i assumed was their latest map under the LMG and as soon as the update had finished i was being told my map was still out of date. Apparently it is a glitch in the Home software which intermittently appears. They said the glitch will be fixed within a few weeks however the latest map is still v8.15.2003
So I can only but trust this is the case! |

Hi,
It seems they've released a new map (v825.something) but not made it available under the latest map guarantee...
