USB connection to windscreen mount

Hi

I'd like to connect my TomTom Go 910 to my PC's USB port using an old modified windscreen mount.

Does anyone know the connections that need to be made to achieve this?

I pinout diag would be very handy

The x10 models are the only ones I never got to play with.
So the windscreen mount doesn't have a USB socket?

In that case, if no-one else can help, you might have to open up your original Home dock (that came with the 910) to see what pins you need to connect to.

Unfortunately, it's possible you might find there is additional circuitry in the Home dock to enable the USB connection, in which case you won't be able to get your project going.

I’ve scoured the internet for more info and have come to the following conclusion.

The home dock is just a few simple connections to the TomTom 910 for connecting through the USB.

However when the TomTom 910 is on the windscreen mount the USB I/O is used for controlling additional hardware which is contained in the mount e.g. serial comms for RDS-TMC etc.

So it looks like it’s not possible

Oh well it was worth a bash.

Thanks for the pointers.

I’ve already had a good look at those sites in passing, but I’m was still none the wiser.

I hoped I could find someone who had already added a usb cable to their windscreen mount.
I’d rather not kill my 910 as I only had a new HDD fitted a few weeks ago

I know you can connect to the 910 as a bluetooth GPS reciver for a laptop etc, but I don't think it supports any file transfer features (OBEX etc.)
